The Stone Castle Trail

There’s nothing better than starting the day by breathing in the fresh air of nature and experiencing climbing up to the viewpoint of an 8th century castle, surrounded by megalithic stones. The trail has a few challenging climbs, including a ladder, but due to its length it’s not enough to make you tired at all. It is adapted to ensure the safety of those who venture out, with several handrails along the route.

A Journey Into the Past

Throughout the morning we will make several stops at castles and sanctuaries that will allow you to appreciate the history and culture of the region. Here you will embark on a journey into the past, be able to climb up a 13th century castle tower, take photos, enjoy 360º views and feel like kings and queens. It’s has never been easier to travel 700 years back in time!

A Mouthful of Tradition

It’s no coincidence that the Minho region is so well known for the art of good food. Throughout the day you’ll be offered traditional snacks tailored to each of the experiences and drinks. For lunch, a meal will be served in a typical restaurant within the historic walls of Monção, where you can sample a variety of tapas and a local dish, paired with the region’s wines.

The Kingdom of Green Wine

In the afternoon we’ll visit the wine estate of one of the best producers in the region, walk into the vineyards, the winery and have a tasting paired with traditional snacks. There we’ll have the opportunity to taste the wines that characterise one of the noblest regions in the country, the Vinhos Verdes region.
